Internet vacation?
I'm thinking about taking a couple of weeks off from the internet over the holidays. Mostly just to see if I can do it. I would still do email, and MAYBE keep up with my RSS feeds, but no www browsing and no instant messaging.
The problems:
1. I can barely keep up with it all when I'm constantly trying to. If I took a two week break I would just have to admit defeat and never catch up on what I missed.
2. The two weeks I have in mind (Dec. 23-Jan. 6) are the quietest weeks, television-wise--so I could get REALLY bored. All I'd have to do is read books and interact with actual human beings. And contemplate my infinitesimal place in the endless expanse of the universe, of course.
3. I would inevitably give up and then officially be a failure.
So what do you guys think. Should I give it a shot? And don't say "yes" just to get rid of me--that would be hurtful.
